This museum focuses on the rich natural and cultural heritage of the "Silver State." Visit to learn about local wildlife, see the bones of pre-historic creatures found in the area and the Ichthyosaur Shonisaurus popularis, Nevada's state fossil. Allow about 2-3 Hours. Hours Today: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM The Nevada State Museum is located in the Carson City Mint building. Aside from some great exhibits, including a replica mine, ghost town, and much more, don't miss an opportunity to see the coin stamp in operation.
