Hours Today: 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM This spectacular bay in Lake Tahoe is best approached by hiking trails. Pictures cannot do this place justice, it is simply breathtakingly amazingly beautful. The walk down to Vikingsholm and back up is very manageable, just pace yourself and wear sensible shoes. Parking for Vikingsholm gets terribly difficult so taking a bus makes a lot of sense, otherwise plan for a long walk from wherever you manage to park. The view and scenery is spectacular. Finding a parking spot on the street was a challenge. The scenery is breathtaking and worth the hike, Be prepared for the crowds. Our family of 5 decided to try this hike. We arrived at 10:30 on a Saturday. No parking available. We parked on the road, past the park opening, and walked 1/2 mile. The views from top are the most beautiful beautiful mountain and lake views! Great place for a family photo! The walk down was not bad. We enjoyed time by the beautiful, clean lake, enjoyed the views. The walk up was a lot more challenging to me. |
