Information |
This is one of the finest Oregon State Parks we've visited. The old Coast Guard Rescue Station includes an actual rescue boat, museum and wonderful trails down the hillside to view the coves and heads. The entire family had a ball and it's a cool place to stretch your legs, while catching fabulous coastal scenery. Highly recommend! Nice spot to spend a few hours touring the life guard museum and, most of all, taking a few trails for views of the ocean. If you start the trail near the life boat from the parking lot, veer off to the right just a few yards into the woods. This side path (about 1 mile round trip) will take you to the top of the cliffs where you can get fantastic views of the coast, sea stacks, and the Cape Blanco lighthouse. You can easily spend more than an hour depending on how long you hike the area.
