Information |
The beach on the West side is beautiful, uncrowded and easily accessible. The peaceful creek ebbs and flows with the ocean tides. It is nice to observe from a picnic table. The park is well maintained with many trees and native flora. Beautiful park with a lovely creek and very clean bathrooms. The walk to the beach is very pleasant. The Ona Beach is perfect for looking for agates. Warning! This was my first experience with a sneaker wave. It was during high tide and the king's tide. Pretty scary with the dogs and I getting caught in it and the closer you are to the Beaver Creek's outlet the more dangerous. Heavy logs were picked up and floating along without any effort. That being said, we learned our lesson and go at low tide and stay away from the Creek. At times you can see seals playing in the surf. It is absolutely gorgeous and a lovely place for a picnic. Do not attempt to camp though because of above mentioned waves.
